Julie Elaine Hedges is the Professional Photographer and owner of JE Hedges Photography & Photo Booths, Inc. since 2000. Julie’s passion for photography began in elementary school and blossomed in high school, where she photographed for the Yearbook Club and was commissioned for her first wedding. Though photography was a strong interest, her primary focus at the time was medicine. Julie took Health Occupations classes, interned at an Army base hospital, and earned her CPR certification, which led to her teaching CPR courses. Her unique approach earned her a Gold Medal in the U.S. Skill Olympics.
After high school, Julie started college with a pre-med focus but shifted paths after joining Corporate America. She quickly advanced from the mailroom to management and became a key organizer of corporate events for thousands of employees. During this time, Julie’s photography hobby flourished, and as demand grew, she officially launched JE Hedges Photography in September 2000. Shortly after, she left the corporate world to manage her business full-time, focusing on events, weddings, and portrait sessions.
In 2011, Julie expanded her business by introducing JE Hedges Photo Booths, the first photo booth rental service in Columbus, Georgia. By 2017, JE Hedges Photography, Inc. and JE Hedges Photo Booths merged to become JE Hedges Photography & Photo Booths, offering digital vintage and open-air photo booths.
By 2017, Julie had photographed over 721 weddings, averaging forty to fifty a year and decided to transition her business towards a focus on corporate clients, school and sports volume photography, military and formal events, and studio portraits. In 2019, after years of involvement with her family’s "Ludy Christmas Light Spectacular," she launched a Christmas-themed portrait service, partnering with "St. Nick of Columbus."
